EC Department Round Tables: Throughout the 2018-2019 school year, the EC Department Leadership Team will host our second year of Round Tables for both EC Staff and Parents to engage in conversation about a variety of topics that are relevant for families, teachers, and students. The  first Staff Round Table of the year will be on Thursday, October 11th from 4:00PM-5:00PM at Hopewell High School. The topic will be “Behavior Management”. We look forward to bringing EC staff and administrators together to collaborate and share strategies. Please consider going! More information for this Round Table can be found HERE. CAR RIDER REMINDER

All students especially K-2 should be taped with their Car Number and Name until 9/6 IF a student does not have a car rider number their name needs to Written First and Last on the piece of tape. ANY car rider who is waiting longer than 2 days for bus should have a car rider number issued to them. Please connect with parents to ensure they receive a number from the office.

  • PK Home Visits
  • 4th Grade , please adhere to the lunch arrangements that have been adjusted for the Back to School assembly. 
  • Kindergarten Staggered Entry Day #1 (A-F)
  • First Day Support in the Media Center at 7:20AM:   Oliphant (Buses),  Walker (Carpool), Hecht (Registration).
  • Please work as a team to complete a single Supply Request Form for any supplies your grade level may need.  Please allow 48 hours for Ms. Cote to fill once you have submitted your request form.  When your order is ready for pick up, Ms. Cote will ask that you stop by the office for pick up.  Thank you.
  • Car Riders will be dismissed at 2:45 during the first week of school only, providing an opportunity for a safe an orderly dismissal until more bus riders are able to get their passes from the transportation department.
  • Before you leave each day, please be sure to submit your classroom roster of how each of your students got home.  Please be sure your cell number is on the roster in the event we need to reach you.
  • Please ensure you know how all students are to get home by 10:00AM each day this week.  At 10AM each day, a team will support by making calls to parents of students who we don’t have dismissal information for.  Please wait for someone to stop by your room to collect this information from you.
  • Please be sure to teach crisis drill information.  By law, we must have a fire drill within the first week of school. We may have a drill any day after the first day.  Please be sure your students  have practiced all crisis drills by the end of the first day of school.
  • 1PM Assembly in the MPR – Please be lined up and ready to enter MPR at 12:50PM (Logistics Belos)

Please be sure you are in line to move at 12:50PM.

Preparing for New Math Standards

Teachers and instructional staff are encouraged to enroll in summer Canvas courses to learn more about the changes in the k-5 math standards. There are six (6) new self-paced courses which introduce you to the revised math standards at each grade level. Courses go live in MyTalent on June 13.

enVision Support for 2018-19

Year two of enVision Math 2.0 implementation includes support from Nancy William, Pearson Project Manager.  In addition to Nancy, two Pearson Curriculum Specialists will be available for professional development and support to schools. Ordering enVision Materials

As part of the enVision Math 2.0 adoption package, new student books volume 1 & 2 are available.  Unlike last year, they will NOT be dropped shipped to schools. All materials will be delivered to Hovis warehouse to be inventoried and processed for school delivery.  School textbook administrators will need to place orders with the Textbook Office through the Lawson Portal for both student and teacher materials.  For assistance please contact the Textbook Office @ 980.343.2661

 

Summer PD Opportunities

Summer Leadership –  Principals and other school and district leaders can learn more about the new math standards and the success of enVision Math 2.0 implementation in elementary classrooms.  Look for these sessions when you register.

*First Day Support in the Media Center at 7:20AM:  Oliphant (Buses), Dudley (Carpool), Estevez (Registration).

*Please work as a team to complete a single Supply Request Form for any supplies your grade level may need.  Please allow 48 hours for Ms. Cote to fill once you have submitted your request form.  When your order is ready for pick up, Ms. Cote will ask that you stop by the office for pick up.  Thank you.

*Car Riders will be dismissed at 2:45 during the first week of school only, providing an opportunity for a safe an orderly dismissal until more bus riders are able to get their passes from the transportation department.

Step 1: Students will report to their Homeroom teacher upon arrival

Step 2: All Homeroom teachers will take attendance in PowerSchool

Students who are absent will be marked with a 2A, regardless of the reason for absence (lawful/excused or unlawful/unexcused)

All Homeroom teachers will have their attendance submitted within 30 minutes of the tardy bell

*Before you leave each day, please be sure to submit your classroom roster of how each of your students got home.  Please be sure your cell number is on the roster in the event we need to reach you.  

*Please ensure you know how all students are to get home by 11:00AM each day this week.  At 11AM each day, a team will support by making calls to parents of students who we don’t have dismissal information for.  Please wait for someone to stop by your room to collect this information from you.

*Please be sure to teach crisis drill information.  By law, we must have a fire drill within the first week of school. We may have a drill any day after the first day.  Please be sure your students  have practiced all crisis drills by the end of the first day of school.
